Nithyananda Moon Diet: Banana Smoothie

Cooking for one person can be challenging at times so I tend to keep it simple. This liquids-only Nithyananda Moon Diet is just perfect for me. Many fruits and veggies can go in a blender, raw or slightly cooked to retain most of the goodness inside. I usually add some warming spices like cinnamon for fruits or fresh ginger for veggies, and cumin which is good for digestion. The water or other liquid for blending is at least room temperature or warmer. This helps to offset the coolness of fruits and veggies when taken from the fridge, and balances Vata Dosa. Clean up is a breeze too!

Here a simple Banana Smoothie:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup almond milk or rice milk
  • 1 tsp linseeds
  • orange juice to taste
  • cinnamon to taste
  • honey to taste

Blend the linseeds until powdery. Then add all other ingredients and blend.
